This specific kettle has a low, rounded satogata (village styled) body with a broad, stable base. The surface shows a naturally aged, coarse hada (skin) texture, which is characteristic of sand cast iron. This stunning piece displays three strong features, the finial which resembles a small fruit or flower, the tall overhead wrought iron handle and the short curved
